<title>{NORTH AMERICA &gt; RENTALS} - trade unusual room for work (berkeley) $350</title>
<link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://articles.world-of-newave.info/regional/north-america/united-states/california/metro-areas/san-francisco-bay-area/business-and-economy/real-estate/rentals/trade-unusual-room-for-work-berkeley-350-2008102193.htm"/>
<summary type="text/plain">First, the room is unusual. It's appropriate for someone who is ok with artist's warehouse type living. It was built by me and an art student originally as a structure to go to burning man. it sits in the back yard 6 feet from the back door. You would use the room for a bedroom and the rest of the house for kitchen, bathroom, chill space, etc.
It rents for 350 plus utilities, but currently i'm looking for someone to trade work for the whole rent/utilities. I need someone to do some household work for me on a daily basis: making sandwiches, doing laundry, washing dishes, making minor repairs. I also need someone to do secretarial type stuff: putting e-mail addresses into my computer, calling the insurance company or the doctor to deal with appointments and bills, etc. I need someone who can keep my information confidential, be honest and responsible about times worked, and is available on a daily basis for an hour or sometimes more.. It would help but isn't necessary if someone has skills in : driving, computers, and/or construction: e.g. you can drive a stickshift car or have your own transportation; also computer knowledge beyond the basics could be helpful, like creating a myspace site for publicity, teaching me tricks that make my computer work easier; also some construction/building trade/hoem repair experience might be helpful. I figure it's about $13 per hour for the work, and the work is about 1 hour daily to trade for rent/utilities.
Whenver I rent this room I get lots of replies because it's cheap and the house is a cool place to live.
Here's the last ad for the room:
Cool roommates, great neighborhood. The room is in the back of a house. It was originally built to go to Burning Man festival, then converted to live in. Sort of like living in an artists warehouse next to a regular house: semi-rough construction in your space; the rest of the house is comfortable, with big kitchen, fireplace, 7 cool roommates with interests in art, music, radical education, art parties, travel, tantra sensuality parties, massage, nursing, belly dance, pirate radio, community organizing, polyamory, philosophy, burning man, etc, etc. . We're ethnically diverse and mostly students or recent grads. Great neighborhood in Oakland on the Oakland-Berkeley border near shops, parks, cafes, 24 hour grocery. A short bike ride from UC Berkeley or California College of Arts, a little more to Ex’pressions. Near Rockridge BART, Telegraph and College bus lines. Available now. Utilities vary 40-60 per month and include high speed internet in all rooms and free washer dryer.
I typically ask for first, last, and $200, but since you would be working off the rent, one month advace rent plus 200 would be ok. It's negotiable.
If you’re interested, send an e-mail or myspace/facebook/tribe telling something about yourself, your interests (you'll be one of the roommates), and your skills.</summary>

<title>{NORTH AMERICA &gt; RENTALS} - Huge Tahoe-style bedroom surrounded by nature (san anselmo) $950</title>
<link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://articles.world-of-newave.info/regional/north-america/united-states/california/metro-areas/san-francisco-bay-area/business-and-economy/real-estate/rentals/huge-tahoe-style-bedroom-surrounded-by-nature-san-2008109681.htm"/>
<summary type="text/plain">Huge Tahoe-style bedroom surrounded by nature

About the house

A charming 4 bedroom home located on a super-quiet street on the border of Sleepy Hollow in San Anselmo. The backyard is picture-perfect and the home has a warm, welcoming feel – on flat ground, nestled in the trees. Downstairs is the bedroom for rent, the living room, the eat-in-kitchen, and a bathroom. Upstairs are three more bedrooms and another bathroom. Both bathrooms have a tub.

About the room

It stands alone, like a wing on the house. It is 18’ x 22’, with redwood paneling throughout and tall windows on two walls, overlooking the tree-filled backyard and pool. The ceiling is 14 feet tall in the center. There is a wall made of rock and a working fireplace. The flooring is Terracotta tiles. The room is available on November 1st, but moving could start happening a few days sooner.

About Us

We are a couple on either edge of 40, with a 2 year old son. We have the three bedrooms upstairs, so your room has a nice sense of privacy. Dean works 9 to 6 at a solar company in San Rafael, and Kelly has an MA in philosophy, cosmology, and consciousness from CIIS. She is currently a stay-at-home mom with our son, Tobias (although they get out a lot). We are glad that the house is so close to Fairfax, since that community feels comfortable to us. We are not strict vegetarians anymore, but lean in that direction and would like the same in a roommate.

We are neat and clean – as much as possible given the fact that we have a 2-year-old – and would love to live with someone who values cleanliness and order. We do not watch TV (except occasional movies) and would like a roommate who doesn’t either. We are lovers of music and nature and are trying to help shift the world towards sustainability. We are interested in spiritual growth, gardening, community, and permaculture. We would like to be friends with our roommate, not just co-inhabitants of the house.

Considerations

•	No smoking of any kind in the house.

•	1/3 of utilities (gas, electric, garbage, and water) are the responsibility of the roommate.

•	The room might only be available until Aug. 31, 2009, if the homeowner decides to come back. There is about a 50% chance of that happening.

•	We are looking for a single person or a single mom with child.

•	Sorry, no pets.

If you’re interested, please email us with a little about yourself and we’ll get back to you. We won’t have time to respond before this Sunday, Oct.4th, but send us something and we’ll get back to you then!

All the best,

<td width="100%" style="font:9pt Verdana,Arial,Sans-serif;vertical-align:top;"><span style="color:#808080;font-variant:small-caps;">Sfbay.Craigslist.Org</span> - Huge Tahoe-style bedroom surrounded by nature

Dean, Kelly, and Tobias

<title>{AVIATION &gt; HANG GLIDING} - CIVL's on-line cross country contest</title>
<link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://articles.world-of-newave.info/recreation/aviation/aircraft/footlaunched/hang-gliding/civl-s-on-line-cross-country-contest-20080920146.htm"/>
<summary type="text/plain">CIVL's on-line cross country contest
http://www.fai.org/hang_gliding/WXC
Agust Gudmundsson CIVL Vice President writes:
CIVL is delighted to announce the launch of the first trial season of the World XC Online contest (WXC) starting on 1 October 2008 and running through to 30 September 2009. All Online contest organisers are welcome to join the WXC network. Already several contests have signed up, including DHV, Paraglidingforum and XCC-Poland. Further information can be found at http://wxc.fai.org.
The basic philosophy of WXC is to interconnect all online XC contests around the world to create a World XC online contest - running alongside existing contests, and allowing pilots to compare their flights across regions and compete internationally. The idea behind the WXC is to encourage and motivate pilots to fly more often, fly further and to undertake more challenging tasks, such as out and returns and triangles.
CIVL delegates are encouraged to promote the WXC to hang gliding and paragliding cross country pilots and especially to organisers of online contests. It is important to emphasise that WXC is completely free of charge to pilots and requires no additional effort on their part. Existing online contests will continue to operate in the normal way, according to their local rules.
Explanations of how the WXC is scored, how to sign up, and the WXC rules are available at: http://wxc.fai.org. Online contest organisers can join WXC at any time, and for the 2008/2009 season only, for contests that connect to the WXC network before 1st June 2009, all flights from the start of the season (1 October 2008) will be accepted. Normally, flights must be submitted to the WXC within 14 days of the actual flight.
Pilots must have a valid CIVL ID. This is allocated automatically to all pilots who have participated in any FAI sanctioned competition since 1 January 2001. Pilots should first check if they are registered (and update their info and upload photos) at http://civlrankings.fai.org. Click the 'Pilots' link. Pilots with no CIVL ID, can register here (you do not need an FAI licence to register).
It includes Sport Class (kingposted gliders). You don't actually submit flights to it. They come in through the other on-line cross country servers that partner with CIVL.

Patrons do prefer to deal with librarians if they are looking for information in a library. They will choose a librarian over a student worker just about every time.
