There is a long technical article at Red Orbit on information literacy titled Partnering With Librarians to Meet NCATE Standards in Teacher Education. It is by Tobeylynn Birch, Louise Greenfield, Karen Janke, Deborah Schaeffer, and Ada Woods. If you are a fan of the ACRL Information Literacy Standards, this article is for you. From the site:As colleges of education prepare to meet NCATE standards they will find technically savvy allies and willing collaborators at their campus libraries. The ACRL standards that guide librarians in the delivery of information literacy instruction parallel four of the six NCATE standards. In meeting the standards of their own professional association, academic librarians have prepared themselves to be knowledgeable partners in me achievement of NCATE information literacy and technology standards. As the numerous studies and projects discussed here indicate, librarians and school of education faculty are already collaborating in a variety of ways to meet the challenge of producing information literate teachers. The variety of responses also illustrate there is no panacea or single approach, and that there are many options and opportunities available for education professionals to meet NCATE standards.

Modern, spacious 4 bed/2 bath home with large, enclosed backyard and patio. This is a beautifully renovated home, half a block from Lake Merritt, right off Grand Ave. and near 580 entrance. Walking distance to the Grand Lake Theater and many restaurants, shops, etc. PG&E and cable are not included.

This is what you get:
Two bedrooms. Small one has a large closet and is connected to your own full bathroom. The larger one has 2 "step-out" balconies, fireplace, closet, and plenty of sunlight. There are also two futons, a stereo system and cable jack but no television.

-You also share a large, furnished living room/dining room area with plenty of windows and light with wall-to-wall carpeting.

A large, modern kitchen with all the amenities. Gas stove, large refrigerator, dishwasher (hell yeah!), and plenty of counterspace. The kitchen is also connected to a laundry room with washer and dryer and backyard entrance. There is also a fully stocked pantry and spice closet, so you can get your "cook on".

A large, fairly manicured, enclosed backyard with brick and concrete patio and something resembling an urban vegetable and herb garden. You can also get your "cook on" with a brand new smoker/grill.

Last, but not least, you will be sharing this wonderful, smoke-free, drug-free, and drama-free home with none other than the delightful Jen Louise and the terribly handsome, Dakota. Dakota is a chow-mix that looks like a lion. No kidding. He's warm, loving, and protective, therefore no other pets will be needed. If you take him out for a walk, you can definitely get some digits.
Jen Louise is a working professional in the hospitality business. She works late hours and therefore does not get up very early. If you are from out of town, she is a great resource. She's hooked in to everything going on.

My name is Hanrow and I will be gone from the first week of October to the beginning of February or possibly later. If this sounds like a home that you would like to live in, please give me a call at 305-292-0388.

Thank you.
