Large rose garden in the front yard.  Around the block is Castro street.  24-hour market at one corner, and corner health food store is around the opposite corner of the block.



Large bathroom with 6' clawfoot tub and portable shower over it. Great cupboard space too.



Only 8 flats in the building.  8 steps up to front door, LAUNDRY is a few steps down in basement. Tall ceilings, fine details, warm wooden flooring throughout flat. Shoes come off inside front door.  Sounds of birds in the morning, sounds of frogs at night. Public tennis courts diagonally across the street. Yoga studio one block away.  I made lace curtains for all the windows.



Huge dine-in kitchen with all utensils, gas stove, lots of counter space and cupboard space, and 3 windows facing East, letting in early morning light, with door out to wooden deck and flowering plants, with stairs down one flight to amazing double-wide lot gardens:  ferns, giant pine tree, roses, and assorted greenery all surrounding a large grassy area. (like I have never seen in San Francisco central)



Public transportation is the best from here:  get downtown in 10 minutes (3 stops on the MUNI underground.)  Trolly down Market St. too., On #33 and #24 buslines.  I looked for this place over a year's period of time, and it is a real 'find'.Great area to bicycle.  10 minute walk to Dolores Park and the Mission with all the various ethnic restaurants and shops, also 20 minute hike to Buena Vista wooded park with majestic views of the GG bridge and the city.  


I am a visual artist/teacher with MFA degree, and other roomate is a Printmaker, with MFA, and makes books, - likes philosophy books, quiet.  I enjoy public radio stations and various music, including jazz, ethnic, classical, vintage rock, and whatever might interest me as being innovative (all at low levels) 



AVAILABLE BEDROOM: (13' x 14') is for one person, quiet, responsible/mature. Has nice wooden pieces of furniture: queen size sleigh bed, great work table, ornate metal table lamp, book shelves, closet, lots of clothes hanging space, long window - view of greenery, chandelier on a dimmer switch. Space for additional furnishings if desired.

Prefer someone who is involved in, or  appreciative of music and visual art. Progressive. Share in keeping communal areas neat/clean. (takes about 15 minutes on Sundays or Mondays)



Rent is $1150/month.  Utilities are approximately $45 to $50/month (high speed internet/wireless, pg&e, basic cable tv. combined)  Move-in is one month's rent and one month's security deposit.  References required.
