A non-simultaneous swap is possible for me as I will be away from home for much of July 2009 or could go to visit my mother at just about any time. My house is spacious and light-filled, with views of the water from almost every window. I have a living room, dining room, kitchen, den and half bath downstairs, with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs, and a small patio-garden which also looks out at the marina. This is a non-smoking home, without pets. There are BART (rapid transit) stations 5 or 10 min. away from my house, and SF is a 30 min. BART ride away. Berkeley with its world famous university is a 10 or 15 min. drive, hiking among the redwoods of Muir Woods about 20 min., the beautiful Calif. coast just beyond that, and the wine country (Napa or Sonoma) is 45 min. away by car. I will be traveling with a platonic friend, possibly two, so we need at least 2 bedrooms. I am a retired librarian, now a musician playing medieval and Renaissance music. My friend is a veterinary scientist and a musician also. Depending on location, we may rent a car for part of our stay, taking day trips around the area, so parking is desirable except in large cities. We already have a week lined up at the Cote d'Azur for next Mar. and want to extend our vacation by traveling elsewhere in France or in Italy. More photos available.
