As for the roommates... there's a girl and a boy. Girl is 24 and enjoys books, cooking, chess, and exploring. Boy is 27, non profit employee, water polo player, and tall. We like having small dinner parties and yelling at Jeopardy. Our beloved roommate is moving to LA because IT'S SO MUCH BETTER THERE. This is a fallacy of course but we don't want to crush his dreams. We also have a four legged companion named Elijah who likes cuddling and eating things off the floor.

YOU: we're looking for someone who can pay rent on time and is pretty easygoing. If you happen to have a dining room table better than our old granny set that would help but we're not picky. Preference goes to people down for Texas Hold 'Em and happy excursions.

<title>{NORTH AMERICA &gt; RENTALS} - Awesome large sunny 1-bedroom sublet apt 1 BLOCK from the lake &amp; park (oakland lake merritt / grand) $940 1bd</title>
<link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://articles.world-of-newave.info/regional/north-america/united-states/california/metro-areas/san-francisco-bay-area/business-and-economy/real-estate/rentals/awesome-large-sunny-1-bedroom-sublet-apt-1-block-20080723834.htm"/>
<summary type="text/plain">Awesome large sunny 1-bedroom sublet apt 1 BLOCK from lake and park

August to mid-December one-bedroom apartment sublet ONE BLOCK from the park and lake 4 blocks from the Library, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Grand Lake Theater and more!

Awesome deal for one-bedroom sublet! $940/mo inclusive of utilities and wireless ‘N’ (and wired) high-speed cable internet. For an extra $35 I can leave the cable TV signal on, (channels 1-80ish with on-demand) but I don't have a TV (I used a projector that I am currently selling).

Come sublet my large (675+ square feet) one-bedroom apartment (not a room in a house or larger apartment) with a dining area and large sunny windows. Lots of sun and light. One block from Lake Merritt, just off Grand Avenue on peaceful Perkins St. It is available ASAP after August 4th until mid-Decemberish- although maybe longer, (see below) and anyone interested in staying longer WILL have preference over anyone not interested, although, having said that, I take everyone as they come and don't play favorites.

If you want to take over the apartment then there is a strong likelihood that you will be able to, (although the management might want more rent $- they've raised the rent on every other unit that has become vacant). I will know more about this option by December-ish.

I don't have any pictures of the apartment as I am in Peru. However, I will be able to show it mon the 4th and tues the 5th of august, as well as afer the 10th, (possibly between the 5th and the 10th if I can get a friend to show it). A new carpet was just put in in June and it looks great! (or so my subletter says :)

The deposit is $1250, non-negotiable but fully-refundable (of course). Applicants with references are preferred to applicants without.

In-building laundry, walk to Grand Lake theater, dining, downtown, library, lake, park, etc. Perfectly situated between downtown and the Grand Lake/Lakeshore shopping area (Trader Joe's, Arizmendi's), restaurants, (thai, indian, vegitarian, french, chinese, burgers, etc), Whole Foods is about a 5 minute walk- in fact it's just down the street.

15 minute walk to the 19th St BART, and a bus less than 100 feet from the door goes straight there, and into SF as well!

Oh, and absolutely no smoking in the apartment, period. Thanks. :)

If you have a car and a fastrack I can tell you how to get ON the Bay Bridge in less than 10 minutes in even the WORST rush hour traffic. Of course, once you're ON the bridge it could take some time to get into the city... With normal traffic you can be IN downtown SF in less than 20 minutes.

As I can't be reached by phone at the moment, (I'm out of the country) but please email me at the link above if you're interested. I can be reached by phone after the 2nd (I think) at 510-229-8815.

Thanks for looking! Elijah</summary>
