<title>{NORTH AMERICA &gt; RENTALS} - Comfy Home in Bucolic Glen Park (glen park) $705</title>
<link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://articles.world-of-newave.info/regional/north-america/united-states/california/metro-areas/san-francisco-bay-area/business-and-economy/real-estate/rentals/comfy-home-in-bucolic-glen-park-glen-park-705-2008099167.htm"/>
<summary type="text/plain">We want our house to be a happy home. Help us make it one!

Medium sized room (11.5’ x 13’) w/large closet in a spacious upper unit in a duplex in Glen Park. Backs onto wooded hillside. Bathroom shared w/one person.

Large furnished living room w/dining area, working fireplace, deck and view of the Bay/Southern San Francisco. Eat in kitchen is fully stocked and has a deck; you can watch humming birds and squirrels while you eat your breakfast.

DSL, phone, washer and dryer, shared garage, abundant street parking (really), and great neighbors. Very little city noise. A stone’s throw away from Glen Canyon (about a 5 minunte walk) and 10 minutes’ walk to BART, shops and restaurants. Close to 38 and 44 bus routes, easy access to 280 and 101.

We’re two women, 39 and 40, one queer, one straight. One of us is a school teacher, the other works at a housing non-profit. We each have our own busy lives, but we also like to spend time together, and when we hang out we tend to laugh a lot. Between us we like: cloth napkins, knitting and a range of fiber crafts, things culinary, singing, speaking Italian (though not in a particularly fluent manner), creative writing, outdoor activities, travel far and near, Fort Funston, and visits to SCRAP.

We want to find someone who wants to collaborate on making a home, rather than just renting a room; someone who is friendly and curious about the world, who has an active sense of humor and a flexible mind, who likes dogs (two live here), and who cleans without being asked. We like to do some gardening on our decks, and/or the hillside behind the house, though we haven’t done much as of yet; your gardening enthusiasm would be a plus, though certainly not a necessity.

Unfortunately, the landlord won't allow other pets.
No smoking.
Good credit is a must.

Rent: $705; Utilities: approximately $100; Security Deposit: $1050
Available Oct.1.

<title>{NORTH AMERICA &gt; LODGING} - Guerneville for Your SF (castro / upper market)</title>
<link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://articles.world-of-newave.info/regional/north-america/united-states/california/metro-areas/san-francisco-bay-area/travel-and-tourism/lodging/guerneville-for-your-sf-castro-upper-market-2008092804.htm"/>
<summary type="text/plain">Hi I have to be in SF from Sept 6 to the 13 for a dr program I am beginning. I
thought it would be nice to exchange places with someone so they could have a
wonderful week up here on the Russian River, yes right on the river.

I will be doing this twice a year and several weekends also so if you can't make
it this week maybe save this for later.

You will be about 2 miles from Armstrong Woods, the oldest state park in
California with 2,000 year old Redwood trees and Austin Creek which has
excellent hiking trails.

September 6th and 7th is the annual jazz festival. You will be able to walk to
it if you want.

More activities can be found at
http://www.russianriver.com/
http://www.gayrussianriver.com/

What you get:

It has a cabin feel inside - small one bedroom w/ wood burning stove (well you
won't be using it this time of year:-) but you do want to be especially careful
of any fire out side it is extremely dry and any little spark can set off a
forest fire....I am not exaggerating. Fire station is 1 mile away though.

It has the old pine paneling put in in the 1940's when the place was built.

Deck overlooking Russian River. Three big redwoods next to my deck with chairs
and small table.

I can clean out the ref for you and there is cooking stove, micro and oven.

Air conditioner too although it tends to stay pretty cool, it is well insulated.

Double bed Fulton with memory foam (I am taking my memory foam pillow so you
might want to bring your own:-) Very comfortable.

It has wood floors with large rugs.

Lots of books you can borrow while you are here on dreams, psych, indigenous
studies, native medicinal plants, arts and crafts.

You can use my computer to check your email but please only use it for that, no
downloading. If you want to use it for anything else I might be willing to talk
about it. It is a mac.

Shower only no tub but I do have a special nozzle for massage.

Also available are 2 massage machines, one for your neck the other can be heated
and is for your entire back.

The place will be entirely to yourself during the week, but my landlord and his
partner (they are wonderful) will be up on the 13 so you can't use the big deck
on that day only the small one outside my door. Their place is next door on the
the other side of the wall. The rest of the week you can use their deck on the
third floor, mine is only on the 2nd.

And we have a quite rule, no stereos (but only while they are here), ... Oh I
just remembered I do not have a TV, I killed it a long time ago. But you can
rent CD's and DVD's in town to play on computer. I am 1 mile outside of
Guerneville, a nice walk or bike ride.

Smoking outside on the deck only I do ask that you use the ashtray, fire
potential is huge right now as I mentioned. Please no drugs. Wine is ok, you are
in wine country.

No big parties.

I can suggest restaurants in the area, there is an excellent inexpensive Mexican
within walking distance.

If you want to blow a couple of hundred in one evening with wine and mouth watering pretty desserts you want the Applewood Inn. It is
extraordinary. (Well exchanging places with me you saved all that $ you would
have spent on a hotel so you have $ right...)

For down home meals (they even have grits) we have a River Inn Restaurant
it is next to where club Fab use to be, great for breakfast and lunch.

Coffee Bazaar
Internet Cafe offering a unique and comfortable setting to see and be seen.
Espresso, Home Baked Food, Ice Cream. Open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner 6am -
8pm. And they have continuous cool water spray outside where you can sit. Good
homemade pies, QUICHE and cookies too.

Charizma Wine Lounge &amp; Deli
California cuisine with a Swedish touch. Breakfast, lunch, dinner with a deli.
Dine in or take out or how about a picnic?

There is also 3 gay bars and there will be lots of people on the weekends.

Food for Humans is our great health food store next door to safeway. The 100%
Kernebrod traditional Danish whole rye bread, all rye no wheat, is to die for.

I do ask that you water my plants while you are here, probably twice.

On street parking for 2 cars only, preferably 1 we don't have much parking but
if you live in SF you should be use to that :-)

That is about it. Oh I can tell you where you MIGHT be able to see zebras,
ostriches, deer may be seen occasionally at night.

Safari West is also not far away. http://www.safariwest.com/
Bodega Bay - the ocean is not far away either.

And you can see lots of stars up here at night!!!

Take Care and hope to hear from some of you.
