<title>{NORTH AMERICA &gt; RENTALS} - includes utilities, DSL, wash/dry, avail Sept 1st (Emery-Oak-Berk intersection) $600</title>
<link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://articles.world-of-newave.info/regional/north-america/united-states/california/metro-areas/san-francisco-bay-area/business-and-economy/real-estate/rentals/includes-utilities-dsl-wash-dry-avail-sept-1st-emery-20080746720.htm"/>
<summary type="text/plain">-- you must appreciate the THREE CATS living in the place
-- your roommate is a professional seamstress and costume designer
-- a small degree of general messiness is tolerated, so if you're a super neat-freak, it might not be your best choice
-- the house is old, so if you're looking for a sterile home, look elsewhere

I'm the one moving out, and I'm posting this because my (and maybe yours in the future) roommate is out of town, working with a circus somewhere, and I've agreed to help with finding a replacement.

The room:
About 12ft by 15ft. Medium closet. Connected to shared bathroom through one door and kitchen through the other. Big window to outside, double-paned for insulation and with screen to keep bugs out.

The apartment:
Bottom floor of a duplex. Old and a bit creaky, with some peeling paint. No cable TV, but with all the great DVDs out there these days, who needs cable?

The neighborhood:
Good central location for people with cars and bikes, but not quite so good for walkers. 25 minute walk to Ashby BART, 20 minute walk to Emeryville shops. Location is 62nd St, between Baker and Herzog.

The roommate:
Uses half of the living room as work space in exchange for paying all of the utilities. Sometimes out of town to work on movies or attend film festivals with red carpets and fun stuff like that. Goes to Burning Man and other big events only when she is working on projects, which is quite often. Chatty if you want to be, but also totally independent. Likes beer, vodka, and tea. And brownies. And meat. Halfway between typical woman and man on the messiness spectrum, but always respectful. Doesn't mind noise (and neither do the upstairs neighbors).

The neighbors:
Upstairs: a massage therapist (yes, you can go right up there for a massage) and her computer-geek boyfriend, who also have a lot of cats and are very welcoming if you just want to go up for a visit. Behind the house: a law student. Law students are really, really busy, so it doesn't matter what else I tell you because you won't see her.

Why it was a good place for me:
I'm a musician and was often practicing in my room until as late as midnight on a school night, and nobody ever had a problem with that. I found the cats to be comforting during tough times. My roommate didn't mind hearing my thoughts, whether they ranged from hyper-liberal to old-fashioned to hyper-critical to warm-and-fuzzy.

You:
Hmm . . . If you run in the creative circles, that's probably a good thing, but if you're just easygoing, that's great. You've changed a kitty litter box before, or always wanted to. You are male, female, or anything else. You can just as well be highly motivated as clinically depressed. Just be reasonable.

The place is available September 1st. If you need to move stuff over earlier, we'll try to find space.</summary>

<td style="font:6pt Verdana,Arial,Sans-serif;text-align:center;vertical-align:top;">&nbsp;</td>
<td width="100%" style="font:9pt Verdana,Arial,Sans-serif;vertical-align:top;"><span style="color:#808080;font-variant:small-caps;">Sfbay.Craigslist.Org</span> - -- you must appreciate the THREE CATS living in the place

If you need to move stuff over earlier, we'll try to find space.<blockquote style="background:#FAFAFA;border:1px dotted #E6E6E6;font:italic 10pt Times New Roman;padding:9px;">includes utilities, DSL, wash/dry, avail Sept 1st {...} </blockquote><div style="font:8pt Verdana,Arial;vertical-align:top;"><span style="color:#808080;">Published:</span> July 22, 2008, 10:03 pm - <span style="color:#808080;">Indexed:</span> July 22, 2008, 11:14 pm - <span style="color:#808080;">Page Size:</span>&nbsp;7KB</div><div style="font:8pt Verdana,Arial;vertical-align:top;"><span style="color:#808080;">Category:</span> <a href="http://www.world-of-newave.info/regional/">Regional</a> &gt; <a href="http://www.world-of-newave.info/regional/north-america/">North America</a> &gt; <a href="http://www.world-of-newave.info/regional/north-america/united-states/">United States</a> &gt; <a href="http://www.world-of-newave.info/regional/north-america/united-states/california/">California</a> &gt; <a href="http://www.world-of-newave.info/regional/north-america/united-states/california/metro-areas/">Metro Areas</a> &gt; <a href="http://www.world-of-newave.info/regional/north-america/united-states/california/metro-areas/san-francisco-bay-area/">San Francisco Bay Area</a> &gt; <a href="http://www.world-of-newave.info/regional/north-america/united-states/california/metro-areas/san-francisco-bay-area/business-and-economy/">Business and Economy</a> &gt; <a href="http://www.world-of-newave.info/regional/north-america/united-states/california/metro-areas/san-francisco-bay-area/business-and-economy/real-estate/">Real Estate</a> &gt; <a href="http://www.world-of-newave.info/regional/north-america/united-states/california/metro-areas/san-francisco-bay-area/business-and-economy/real-estate/rentals/"><b>Rentals</b></a></div></td></tr></table>

<summary type="text/plain">UPDATE: Bigfoot Corpse is Hoax? A Boing Boing reader says: "This site has also been making the rounds - it appears that the person behind the whole thing is a known hoaxer. And the corpse is a simple bought costume. Not too sure about credibility, but seems more reasonable than being the real deal." Loren Coleman of Cryptomundo writes about the Bigfoot body purported to be discovered in the woods in Northern Georgia. The guys who claim to have discovered it are holding a press conference in Palo Alto on Friday. Is it real? It certainly looks like the real deal, and with a surprising variety of features. The hominoid (please note, not hominid) body, found in the Georgia woods, is now in a secure location, under armed guard, and set to be examined by a battery of academic scholars, skeptical scientists, Bigfoot researchers, and debunking writers. Who is to say the discovery of Bigfoot won?t happen this way? With offers of millions of dollars, just for the photographs of the body, Loren Coleman and Cryptomundo was given one copy of the first image to share with you, our readers. The body doesn?t look exactly like people thought it would, because the Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot has been the model in our minds. However, this looks as if it is an actual apelike primate. Indeed, the gorilla-like facial features, the robust lack of canines, and the grinding surfaces shown in the teeth suggest a bulky vegetarian with a mixture of higher primate characteristics. Will further tests and the proposed live capture of others prove beyond a doubt that Bigfoot is a new species? Stay tuned. Georgia Gorilla: Bigfoot Body?s First Photo! (Cryptomundo)...
