<title>{NORTH AMERICA &gt; RENTALS} - Looking for a cool 3rd roommate in Oakland (oakland lake merritt / grand) $670</title>
<link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://articles.world-of-newave.info/regional/north-america/united-states/california/metro-areas/san-francisco-bay-area/business-and-economy/real-estate/rentals/looking-for-a-cool-3rd-roommate-in-oakland-oakland-2008101751.htm"/>
<summary type="text/plain">Hello! Our household currently consists of two 30-something females (Ana and Evelyn), 2 loveable canines (Kali and Ollie), and our current 3rd roommate, Charles, who has plans to move into a studio apartment very soon. Although we are sad to see him go, we have consistenly had very good luck on CL finding great people to live with and are hopeful that we can again find a good fit for our household.

The earliest move-in date is August 18th, but flexible after that if we find the right person who can't move in until a little bit later.

Our house is close to Lake Merritt, about 2 blocks from Highland Hospital, and has easy access to 580/880 freeways. (There is no convenient BART access, so not having a car in this area isn’t recommended.) The house is mostly furnished (with the exception of the available bedroom). The bedroom is slightly cozy, but it has a private, full bath, is carpeted, and has a great backyard view. The house is newly remodeled, very clean, contains a large kitchen w/ gas range stove, living/dining room, new appliances, washer/dryer (free laundry!), dishwasher, hardwood floors, and a very large backyard. We share the utility bills (EBMUD, PG&E, and phone/internet if you use it). Street parking is available and always abundant.

What we look for in roommates:
-Friendly, and that you like to make friends with your roommates
-Clean, willing to do 1/3 share of the cleaning/chores without being reminded
-Pref. 30-something, or have a lot in common with a couple of 30-somethings
-Respectful of others and of property, and of quiet hours esp. during weeknights
-Responsible, can comfortably afford rent, able to pay on time
-Vegetarian-friendly
-Eco-friendly, know how to recycle and use earth-friendly household products.
-*Must must must* like animals! Can tolerate two adorable, energetic canines. (Although we have a full house as it is, so please no inquiries about additional pets.)

About us:

Ana:
A very busy grad student at Berkeley, studying environmental sciences, Somewhat artsy, friendly, Latina (Mexican), vegetarian, music-lover (mostly alternative/rock/post-punk/new wave/gothic), wine-lover, loves to cook organic meals, likes concerts and clubs, making new friends, learning new languages (Russian, French, Spanish...) watching movies. Likes to travel (so we may ask you to help take care of or feed the pets every once in a while).

Evelyn:
An aspiring law student who is currently working a 9-5 position in downtown SF. An avid gym-goer whose activities include climbing, yoga, and general fitness. Takes frequent trips to the dog park. She is Guatemalan, enjoys alternative music, cooking, reading, hiking, and watching movies. Also goes on the occasional weekend trip.

Both of us are in relationships and spend a certain amount of time away from home, and sometimes at home with our significant others. We are very open minded and welcome responses from people of all ethnic backgrounds, genders, &amp; sexual orientations.

Move-in fees are first and last month's rent. Pictures of the house and room are included (although the bedroom has been painted a plum color since then. Prospective roommates are free to paint whatever color they’d like.)

Anyone interested in renting the room, please email us!
