Indeed, what we may see is a swing towards a less showy architecture, with invention squeezed into pint pots. Some of Christopher Wren's most inspired buildings, after all, were the gem-like City of London churches he built around St Paul's. Clamber up the steps of St Stephen Walbrook and, behind modest ragstone walls, you find yourself beneath a magnificent dome that might belong to one of the great baroque churches of Venice. Or visit Le Corbusier's Petit Cabanon and see how a tiny building can be highly charged. "I have a chateau on the Côte d'Azur," he wrote to a friend. "It's for my wife. It's extravagant in comfort and gentleness." It is less than four metres square. The years following the Wall Street Crash saw in "Depression deco", a sort of late-flowering art deco. While we might not see anything as distinct as that, we could yet discover a likable new modesty: offices gathered around courtyards with rooftop gardens, rather than look-at-me skyscrapers; supermarkets dug underground rather than swaggering over historic towns; schools doubling as performing arts centres. And, if the Olympic Delivery Authority cares to take up the offer of a low-cost, take-apart sports building, as suggested by Dipesh Patel, a director of Arup Associates, we may yet see the 2012 Games proving that swanky buildings are not the only way of going for gold.Still, if you happen to be an architect hooked on wildly adventurous design and are willing to travel (and work competitively), then Dubai, Abu Dhabi, India, Russia and South America beckon. After December the regular price of the room is $670 a month that includes everything! That is one of the best things about this room is that you only have to pay one price for everything! YES EVERYTHING...electricity, water, internet (wireless), cable! It has been very convenient for me to only pay one price and not worry about individual costs. The place is within walking distance of SFSU. The room is medium sized with a big window. There is the possibility of bringing a kitty, but no drugs, no live in boyfriends. You can have your friends/boyfriend over to hang out, and spend the night occasionally; they just can't live with you. So with that said the place is pretty chill. You have access to everything such as the kitchen, living room, etc... We have a washer and dryer in the apartment complex. Parking is not bad. You can buy a permit if you want to rent your own personal space, or just look for parking on the street. Another great thing is that you would have a lot of refrigerator space because one roommate is a vegetarian and doesn't buy a ton of food and the other one is hardly ever home and eats out a lot. I will trade this place for an apt. or even a ROOM in a shared house. I'm eager to get to San Francisco ( where most of my clients are ) without giving up my great space here. I want to make sure I love SF before making a more permanent room. Your place doesn't have to be right in SF either. I'm fine with a commute up to an hour ( I only need to be in the city a couple days per week , I work at home or remotely in a coffee shop nearby 2-3 days a week ). I AM FLEXIBLE AND WILLING TO TRADE ANYWHERE FROM A COUPLE WEEKS TO A FEW MONTHS OR MORE! HERE IS SOME INFO ABOUT MY PLACE FOR YOU: It has 2 bedrooms ( one is an office ). It ideal for 1-2 people. It's about 1000 feet squared. Tooele is 30 minutes from Salt Lake ( west ). Buses only come by a few times a day , so it's best to have a car here. It's set up like a hotel - you just need to bring clothes ! Take a look at the photo's and then I'll give you more info about the place in the bottom of this ad! Here is what it has : FAST dsl internet . You can use my neighboors wifi ( it's fast too! )! ;) Coffee, tea, hot chocolate provided Towels are provided There is a washer/dryer. It has a tv/dvd ( no cable , rabbit ears pick up 4 channels ) . There is a treadmill Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook / serve. Help yourself to spices ect. so you don't have to buy them here. There is nice orignal artwork here ! I leave a local entertainment book out for guests with buy one , get one coupons to local restaurants ! PLEASE : NO SMOKING OR CATS ( I'M ALLERGIC SO PLEASE DON'T ASK ) .
